Facts:
+Snaggletooths became extinct in the Atlantic in the Miocene (if not Pliocene) but survived in the Indo-Pacific region where one smaller descendant species still lives to this day.
+In late 2014, a near complete specimen of a H. serra shark was unearthed during a house extension project in Maryland
+Giant Extinct Snaggletooth sharks not only have one of the most diverse dental assortments, but also some of the coarsest serrations among any animal.
*The species is widely recognized as being around & replacing H. curvatus since the early Oligocene, though imo they appear transitional between the 2 species during that epoch (& didn't grow as big, look up "South Carolina snaggletooth teeth" to see what I mean if I don't get around to it here)
