Students and Postdoctoral Researchers
I am fortunate to work with highly motivated student collaborators at different stages of their academic careers. If you are interested in joining the group, I encourage you to first read some of our papers and then contact me with your thoughts or questions. Positions are open to students and postdocs who are both highly motivated and down-to-earth.
Current Students
William Sakalauskas — Master's student (Department of Mathematical Sciences). Currently improving the efficiency of growth-elastic vertex simulations and performing convergence studies involving crease formation.
Yifan Gu — Postgraduate student (Department of Mathematical Sciences). Currently using data-driven approaches and differential geometry to study growing curves, co-mentored with Marcus Sarkis.
Postdoctoral Researchers
Dr. Nonthakorn (Po) Olaranont — Ph.D. in Mathematics, UC Irvine. Currently developing highly robust computational methods for large-scale wound-closure simulations incorporating proliferation, nonlinear elasticity, fluidization, and tissue cell internalization.
Dr. Rholee Xu — Ph.D. in Bioinformatics and Computational Biology, graduated from our group, co-mentored with Luis Vidali. Currently expanding her doctoral research on tip-growth modeling into a series of publications.
