Being a mentor

Hi!

Your school has been selected to participate in Google's Mind the Gap program. They have invited you to an event at Google's offices and have informed you that you have been selected to be a mentor at your school. Not sure what this means or what the next step is? Don't worry, you are in the right place!

In a nutshell: Google's Mind the Gap program was established to promote gender equality in computer science classrooms across the country. We think that the best way to do this is through students like you, who are already majoring in computer science. We are convinced that the profession's best ambassador is a student already majoring in it, like you. The purpose of this role is to serve as a bridge between students already majoring in computer science and those who have not yet chosen to do so. After all, there is no better example than a person with experience.

What do you have to do?

  • Make it to three events at Google's Tel Aviv offices. - The events combine enrichment activities for you and training for your role as a school mentor.
  • Assign at least two activities (which you will receive from us) to students who have not yet chosen their major at school.
  • Come with students who are in the process of choosing their major to Google's offices. Answer questions after the visit about the major offered by the school.

That's it - not too complicated.

We trust you to do it best.
