Below are some of the groups and services that are available at the Mercat Centre
Breakfast Club operates each day during term-time 8:20 - 9:00am (last orders 8:50am). The Club offers Primary School children a hearty breakfast, before the school day. All items are 20p each and there are different choices each day. Parents, carers, and younger children are also welcome!
Access Pod - A Dedicated Telephone, Online Computer and Printer
We have a dedicated telephone, computer with internet connection, and printer which can be used, by anyone who needs it, for Job Searches and Benefits Claims. Come along to the centre to find out how and when you can access this service. If you need help with either Job Searches or Benefits Claims, staff may be available to help. For further details drop by or contact the Centre.
Parent and Toddler Group
Wednesdays & Fridays
9.15am - 11.45am (During School Term) 3 years & under.
Each child will be provided with a snack during the session. Tea/Coffee available for adults £1 per session (50p sibling discount). Everyone Welcome!
Our group is a friendly bunch!
We meet Thursdays 10am - 12 noon. We enjoy sharing our skills and learning new ones. Crochet, Cross-stitch, Patchwork, Bag Making and much much more... Refreshments are available and a £1 donation may be given, if desired.
Selling a selection of quality second-hand clothes and goods. All proceeds go towards the running of the community centre.
Every Monday evening 7:00pm. Eyes down at 7:30pm and finishes around 9:00pm. New members always welcome!
Mercat Centre Camera Group meets Tuesday evenings fortnightly, from 7:30pm.
They are fun and informal gatherings for those with an interest in photography. No expensive equipment is required, just a basic camera and an interest in improving your abilities.
Homestart East Highland
Homestart East Highland run a weekly group session at the Mercat centre, on Tuesday mornings from 10am - 12pm. Homestart East Highland give friendship, advice and support to young families during the early years.

Action for Children (Aspiring Communities) Supporting Communities to work on priorities important to them. Providing services designed by the Community for the Community.
Drop in session weekly on Wednesdays 12am-1pm, during school term. The group offers a friendly service to support community and individuals needs. For example: Benefit, employment, and childcare advice.
University of the Third Age (Easter Ross & Sutherland U3A)
U3A (University of the Third Age) is a UK movement of retired and semi-retired people, who come together to continue their social, educational, and creative interests in a friendly and informal environment. They hold a general meeting on the 3rd Thursday of each month from 2-4pm at the Mercat Centre. Why not come along and meet the members. They have many interest groups. Every Tuesday after school (term-time) 3pm - 4pm.
Open to Primary School Children. A variety of daily free choice activities and weekly themes make Youth Club great fun!
School Collection is available from Youth Club Staff to Milton Primary pupils. £1 per child (50p sibling discount).
Juice and snack provided. Under P4 must be collected by adult after club.
Come along and browse a large selection of donated books. The books are available free to lend (or keep if you wish)!
We offer local residents printing, photocopying and CV writing services at very reasonable costs.
Training and Courses
We often run courses and training at the Mercat Centre. Many of these courses are vocational, offering a recognised certificate you can add to your CV. Past courses have included Emergency First Aid, Elementary Food Hygiene, Health and Safety Courses and Party Cooking. Courses are advertised in our Chatterbox Newsletter or you can contact the centre to find out when training is running.
