How to make 100% Rye bread

This 100% rye bread recipe was motivated by the desire to create delicious bread, without wheat, in a simple and straightforward manner.

Although there are numerous recipes out there for 100% rye bread, many are cluttered in ads and surrounded by huge amounts of text. Some recipes require you to make a sourdough starter, which although great in principle, involved more time than I was willing to invest. Moreover, the simpler recipes that I did try out flopped. After throwing away the under-cooked lumps that came out of the oven, I found that cleaning up that sticky mess from the counter was also very time consuming.

Some amount of observation, experimentation and tweaking was needed to make this work.

This recipe was designed to create delicious bread whilst as the same time trying to minimize the steps required, ingredients involved, time for preparation and time for cleaning up afterwards.
