Winter has covered this garden.
When will it turn into spring?
Dark nights that seem like forever,
Sleeping without any dreams.
Snowdrops wait near the surface.
Hope for the sun to break through.
Seems like I've waited forever,
Waiting for someone like you.
If you showed me a sign, would I know right away?
Or ask myself, how could this be?
Would I believe it if someone like you
Were waiting for someone like me?
I counted my friends on my fingers,
Hoping to cast out the grey.
I could hear every voice in the distance,
But each one seemed so far away.
Standing in front of my window,
Hoping to see something new.
It seems like I've waited forever,
Waiting for someone like you.
If you showed me a sign, would I know right away?
Or ask myself, how could this be?
Would I believe it if someone like you
Were waiting for someone like me?
Cherries flower so sweetly,
Their petals fall soft to the ground.
Each of us stays here so briefly,
Each of us tries to hold on.
Each evening the light's lasting longer,
And now I'm beginning to see
That this garden is changing it's season
And you've been waiting for someone like me.
