Question:
What do you do when your computer breaks down?
I decided to ask this question as it is something that is a common occurrence in today's world of technology. It also is a way to see if people put off a problem if it is out of their knowledge, or try and attack the problem to solve it.
Answers:
Marc, 21, Biological Science Major. Ignore the problem for the time being, and move on to the next computer that I own.
Nicholas, 21, Mechanical Engineering Major. Routinely backs up his computer on 2 different places, a flash drive and a hard drive. If the computer was to crash, I would try the basic computer knowledge that I have on it, and then take it somewhere where they have in-depth experience with computers.
Rocco, 21, Communications Major. "I would begin to date a girl with a better laptop than me, and use hers".
Kelly, 22, Research Assistant, Psychology & Spanish Degrees. Take my computer to the Apple Store and have them fix it.
John, 20, Criminal Justice. Ignore the problem until I need to really deal with it, and use the library computers in the time being.
Nici, 21, Political Science Major. Head to the library!
Ted, 21, Business Administration major, concentration in Human Resources, applying to law school. Try and troubleshoot the problem, run a malware program to isolate any current problems. Anything that I really need is backed up on my flash-drive.
Vinnie, 23, History Degree Undergrad, Masters in History and Secondary Education. "I would ask you Mike, you're the engineering in the family you should fix it" However, my brother did fix his computer recently by replacing the RAM after ordering it in new egg. What he did was ask me what I thought the potential problem could be, and I told him to order some new RAM and, now his desktop is back in running action.
