Henry (aka Heneli, Henry-Bear, Henry Boo Boo, Mr. T, Little Fella, Henley, Diabolito, Arrigo, n00b, Henri, Buster) is a neutered black-and-white tuxedo. On his very first vet visit on 01-17-2013, he weighed in at 4.9 pounds at four months! That's more than Michelangelo weighed at seven months!
Other Information about Henry
Before finding Henry, I had spent the previous 2 months searching high and low for a cat to help Michelangelo with some of his socializing skills as well as to keep Michelangelo from developing "Single Cat Syndrome." I started out looking exclusively at special needs cats, but every cat I applied for was no longer available. I expanded it out to any cats in need of rescue and got the same results: they were already adopted out. I finally gave up and spent an entire weekend applying for any cat I could find. Out of over 30 requests sent, only one response came back with a cat still available. (Although, to be fair, a couple of days later, I did get one more response...from a litter of 6 now down to 1.) I guess Southern California either has a highly effective Spay-and-Neuter program or we're all a bunch of cat lovers!
Henry was born "Merlin" to a lovely lady who didn't have money to get his mother fixed in time. He also had two other siblings, a "reverse tuxedo" (white and black) sister, and an orange and white tabby brother. The owner was recently diagnosed with kidney disease and couldn't afford to take them all to the vet so she sold the kittens to raise money to get the mother fixed. For the first few days, before I discovered what his name was, I called him "Mr. Tuxedo," or "Mr. T" for short. Then, one day while I was at work, my brother and his best friend were at the house and his best friend (who is half-Hawaiian) suggested "Heneli," which is Hawaiian for "Henry." I loved the name Henry and so did Mr. T, who responded to that name when he had yet to respond to anything else. My brother still calls him "Heneli," but he also still calls Michelangelo "Angelo," so it's fitting that Henry has a special name with him as well.
Henry is a bird-catcher. By 8 months old, he'd already caught about 5, two within a two-day span. He loves jumping and climbing and I've had to put a collar on him since I haven't found a way to keep him successfully in my backyard yet. (I'm going to have to build a modified Catio because he can get out of everything else.)
He is quite the little lover and hugglemonster. He wakes me up at 6 am every morning by smothering my face in kisses. When I try to turn my head away, he'll climb onto my chest and trap my face between his paws as he continues giving me kitten kisses. I really need to figure out how to get him to do this at a bit later time than 6 am.... He also needs to have an "after work" loving and a "before bed" snuggle-fest. He's just too stinking sweet!
