First I’ll show you how to make the rotated logos manually without the action file, if you don’t care how the logos are made and just want to quickly make them then you can skip this section and go straight to the section using the action file.
1. First thing to be done after you have opened the image is to rotate the image. We do this by going to Image -> Rotate Canvas -> Arbitrary… then in the dialog box that appears you select an Angle of 33 °CW (Clockwise). Then select OK.
2. Next we need to crop our rotated image, to maximise the amount of logo we get, select the crop tool (C) and crop the image so that the image stretches to each corner of the canvas.
3. Now we resize the image. Go to Image -> Image Size…, or alternatively right click on the images title bar and select Image Size…
4. In the dialog box that appears select a Width of 100 pixels (the height doesn’t matter, just make sure the image keeps the same aspect ratio – should do automatically).
5. Now we adjust the canvas size, go to Image -> Canvas Size… and in the dialog box that appears, select Width 125 pixels and a height of 58 pixels, then click OK and click OK to the warning that some of the image will be cropped (this is what we want).
6. Now we add the Drop Shadow to the image, right click on the image in the layers panel and select Blending Options…
7. Tick the Drop Shadow option, and in the Drop Shadow menu, untick Use Global Light, the rest of the options should to the same as the image below.
8. That’s it you have now created your first Rotated Logo, now all you need to do is save the image, and it is the same as previously File-> Save For Web… In the dialog box again select PNG-24 and tick the two boxes and save your image.
9. To create the small Rotated Logo. Just open the rotated logo you want, and go to Image -> Image Size… and in the dialog box select a Height of 18 pixels. That’s it for the small Rotated Logo. Now just save the image BUT MAKE SURE YOU DO NOT OVERWRITE the full sized logo if you still need it.
10. If you wish to create the background logos, you can use the action BgroundRL included in the rotated_logos08 action file. (Instructions follow in the next part of the guide).
