CLUB NOTES 20/02/2017

Our Intermediate Team had a comprehensive win against St. Dominic's on Sunday last in the 1st round of the O'Gara Cup.
New manager Iain Daly and his Management Team will be satisfied with the teams start to the new campaign.
The weather conditions were ideal for good football,
It was a game that Glaveys never looked like losing ,Two first half goals from Seamus Burke and Caoileann Fitzmaurice put the home side into a comfortable 2-07 to 0-04 lead at half time.

In the second half St. Dominic's tried their best but never carried any real treat in their forward division and the fact that the lost three players through injury before the break didn't help matters for them.

A brilliant penalty save by Darren O'Malley 15 minutes into the second half really motivated the home side.
Our team continued to drive forward at every opportunity and with and some good passing movements throughout the half ,Some well taken points from Stephen Comer,James Brennan and Liam Coll put the game out of reach for St.Dominics.

Scorers on the day for Glaveys were as follows ; Stephen Comer (0-06),Seamus Burke (1-02), Caoileann Fitzmaurice (1-01),Ronan Murphy (0-03) , Liam Coll (0-02),Gary Patterson (0-02), Conor Hussey (0-01) and James Brennan (0-01) .The final score read 2-18 to 1-08.
