The project of Post-Modernism has led to failure and ideology has been cast into doubt. Plunging the scientific process into disarray. Reaching the Scientific Age it's imperative that the general public be periodically kept-out of the scientific process. Recurrently withholding progress in the sciences by imposing a lockdown on academic research and development, pulling the repositories of the national laboratories, enhancing standards for admissions in colleges and graduate schools, etc., will ease any uncontrollable breakdown cause by both the invigorating drive for technological scientific development and the turmoil brought on by flaw and/or risky decision-making, amplified by the growth of the world-wide web.

I believe social and technological change to be an interrelated driving force that strives to achieve higher-energy scales. Nikolai Kardashev proposed the Kardeshev scale to measure the technological development of advance civilizations. The higher the energy output the more sophisticated and advance our technology. The Kardeshev scale has since then led to the Omega- Kardeshev scale by merging the Omega-energy scale with the Kardeshev scale. Allowing a glimpse of not only technological change but also social progression. Where each age implies an increase in the Omega-Kardeshev scale but that their duration takes longer due to space travel and the vast distances of the cosmos. In which a civilization can be understood to be of Class 0, I, II, or III.
I do feel that domination, and the radicalism potent in religious fundamentalism throughout the advance and developing world, risks to counter the social and political attainments of the 1960's New Left.
The economic uncertainties evident in globalization and free trade (though both are known to be essential to achieving consolidation of international institutions and national governments) risks to undermine the stable growth the West has enjoyed by magnifying the problem of religious extremism and ultra-nationalism.
There is a profound need to spread awareness that the Western economies should cease to comply with it's policies of austerity and move toward stimulating their national economies into recovery. I support liberal New Keynesian macroeconomics, while also aware that cooperation between the public and private sectors can do a lot to continue to spur innovation and cultivation, imposing regulatory controls to keep the global economies from falling into deeper recessions and to mitigate excess supply cause by the unstable doctrine of efficient markets.
I am an existential humanist in the vigor of Jean-Paul Sartre. I do not believe that there is a divine meaning, or true purpose, to physical reality. It may be that the evolution of human intelligence is just an aberration, and yet I also do feel, as an existentialist, that we are responsible for our own actions and that base on the circumstances we can decide how to go about making the right decisions.
As a fervent believer in the religious naturalist movement, from Baruch Spinoza to John Dewey, we must strive to deal with the perils evident in the industrialized and developing world, i.e., climate change, nuclear proliferation, militarism, and organized terrorism. Religious naturalism is an umbrella theology that includes all the planets religions celebrating the natural world and global history. While integrating such universal concepts as compassion and personal morality, while also demolishing its superstitious and dogmatic beliefs with advances in the natural sciences and the arts -- or human knowledge.
Though the Earth remains our cradle of birth an important and healthy transition in human growth must include the colonization of space, by using the terraformic process and constructing space-habitats, if we are to avoid the possibility of both environmental and human destruction. The ecology, from the mountains, forest, fields, marshes, sand dunes, beaches, and oceans all remain a vital element in our ability to relate, as animals, to our planet, and eventually the solar system and deep space. We should never condition ourselves to believe that Earth is humanity's permanent home, for the possibility of calamity brought on by carelessness and warfare makes it inevitable that we must consider the option to find a way to preserve human survival from uncertain scenarios of mass extinction. Yet the planet Earth remains humanity's temporary home until we achieve interstellar propulsion and star-gates; hence, we should continue to avoid direct communication with other forms of higher intelligence. It's important that we develop quietly and not attempt to promote our existence to other life-forms whom may harbor either a self-defeating benevolence or intentions to take advantage of our vulnerability. We should search for Earth-like planets, determine their potential habitability, try to eavesdrop on them using radio telescopes and satellites, but remain passive until we've learn enough about their progress and culture to be certain that they do not pose a direct threat to long-term species survival. Only then can the internationalist model be sought-after by achieving peaceful First Contact. Where humanity will be able to establish new habitable zones consistent with what's required to sustain human life and tranquility since co-habitation with other extraterrestrial civilizations will not be entirely achievable.
Finally, the continuation of the planetary super-state becomes untenable as both self-management and anticipative economic existence dismantles the authoritarian central government. As human beings leave their solar system, travel to other stars, and establish both new artificial planetary biospheres and space habitats, do we then reach the Advance Age in the structure of Anarcho-syndicalism. A self-reliant epoch but a wildly strong age that utilizes worm-holes and star-gates. Leading to a harmonious Class II civilization and inevitably incalculability.
