The Charity that we helped in 2012-2013
Family Promise of the Mid Hudson Valley

Thank you from Family Promise of the Mid Hudson Valley.

Acting President’s Message

As my last year at the helm of our Club, I want to thank the Officers and Committee members who have been so supportive: Past President Jim Cosgrove and his wife Maria, Treasurer George McCracken, Assistant Treasurer, Jim Rickard, Past Program Director, Lorraine Campilii, Current Program Director, Eleanor Poster, our very special Webmaster, Gary Leather, Past VP Victor Fanuele, who along with Jim Cosgrove and Ken Crowe have handled the 50/50, Past Trip Chairman, Lou De Felice, our Secretary & Christmas Party planner, Cathy Golan, Past Refreshment Committee (Joyce Shafer, Helen White, Dave & Marge Harvatin), Current Refreshment Committee (Joe Incoronato & Jim Rickard), Local Events Chairperson, Mary Schmalz, and all members who have stayed after meetings to return tables and chairs to their normal spots. All of these members have made my job easier over the past 4 years. I continue to reach out to our membership for someone to whom I may hand the gavel in June. I will be happy to coach anyone on the duties of the President of the MHV IBM Retirees Club.

Once again we will have a June luncheon catered by East Fishkill Provisions. We have tweaked the menu from last year. You will find the menu and other details elsewhere on this site. We have reduced the price of the luncheon by $3/person using your dues bringing member cost for the full meal to $14. When you consider that we provide free donuts for 8 of the meetings each year, there’s not much left to take care of other expenses such as rent, mailings, etc. Please make your reservations for the June Luncheon as soon as possible.

I will not be at the April 21st meeting. Substituting for me will be Jim Cosgrove. My thanks to Jim for taking care of this meeting. Following is the topic and speaker for the April 21st meeting:

“Steps to Keep Walking After Age 65” by Dr. Russell Tigges, Orthopedic Surgeon, Medical Staff President, Northern Dutchess Hospital.

Ed McKenna, Past President (2012-2014); 1st Vice President (2015)
