I am very happy to be finished with taxes and having saved several hundred dollars by using AARP’s free tax service. Prior to hearing Ed Broderick speak at our meeting earlier this year, I believed the service had income restrictions that would have precluded me from using it. That message was also conveyed in an earlier article in the Poughkeepsie Journal. It was rectified in the 3/30/14 article in the Journal, in which both Ed Broderick and I were quoted (see elsewhere in this site). I hope some of our members availed themselves in this regard and also found it worthwhile.
I have discovered 2 worthwhile apps on my ipad (also available on other tablets): 1) TinyScan, which saves me time when I need to make a copy of a document and I don’t have a scanner nearby. It creates a photo (JPG format), which can easily be mailed, printed, or incorporated into a document. The second app, SignNow, enables signing of a document, obtaining additional signatures, and sending the resultant document along to its intended recipient(s). SignNow was used to sign a multimillion dollar athlete’s contract. It is also being used in many Fortune 500 companies. Both apps are FREE!
We’re finally seeing some springtime weather. Time to plant some flowers, clean up needed areas around the home, and get some outdoor exercise!
On April 17th our program we will be educated in how to protect our Internet connected devices by Scott M. Hurley, NY State Police, Computer Crimes Unit. He titled his talk: “Cybercrime - Protecting Yourself on the Internet.” Come, bring a friend, and learn how to protect yourself while online!
Looking forward to seeing you!

Family Promise of the Mid Hudson Valley
Thank you from Family Promise of the Mid Hudson Valley.
Many new links have been added to the "Best of the Hudson Valley" section, thanks to the material Mary has been putting out on the table at our meetings. If you click on one of the flyers below you will get a larger view of it or go to Event.
If you have something you would like posted (a Restaurant, a Show or other Entertainment, a Place of Interest, or an Event) please let us know. This can be used just like the bulletin board we had at each meeting for awhile and the info Mary puts on the table at our meetings.
