The mission of the Library Media Program of the Middletown Township Public Schools is to ensure that all students and staff become efficient and effective life-long learners and users of information. It is our mission to provide these learners an environment that is rich in resource materials, both print and electronic, that support the Core Curriculum Standards as put forth by the State of New Jersey.
This mission is accomplished by:
Providing access to materials in all formats.
Providing instruction to foster competence and stimulate an interest in reading, viewing, locating and using information and ideas.
Providing leadership, instruction, and consulting assistance in the use of technology and information literacy.
Collaborating in partnership with other educators to design learning strategies to meet the needs of individual students.
Providing resources and activities that contribute to lifelong learning, while accommodating a wide range of differences in teaching and learning styles.
Providing a facility that functions as the information center of the school, and as a hub for integrated, interdisciplinary and school-wide learning activities.
Providing resources and learning experiences that support the concept that intellectual freedom and access to information are prerequisite to effective and responsible citizenship in a democracy.
