The Order of the Ancient and Primitive Rite of Memphis and Misraim is a Chivalric and Philosophic Order.
The Order is not Masonic, because it does not constitute nor confers the Masonic Degrees. It has become an appended Chivalric and Philosophic Order to the Masonic Order.
T
he Order recruits from the Masonic Order rank, but it is not in itself a Masonic Order nor constitutes an advancement of the Master Mason degree. Order of the Ancient and Primitive Egyptian Rite of Memphis, is a Rite generally considered clandestine by Masonic organizations within the UGLE framework. A Mason is not necessarily a member of a Lodge.
In a broad sense, he is any person who daily tries to live the Masonic life and to serve intelligently the needs of the Great Architect.
