Q & A
Q: How can partner yoga deepen my existing yoga practice?
A: Partner poses allow you to use the support of each others bodies to deepen your practice and assist each other into more challenging poses. Think about how great it feels when your yoga teacher gives you an adjustment or assist while you are in a yoga pose....during partner yoga, the presence of your partners body will serve to "assist" you the entire time!
Q: Can friends do parter yoga?
A: Yes! Partner yoga with a friend is lots of fun. You do NOT need to be in a romantic relationship to participate in partner yoga!
Q: Why is partner yoga good for my relationship?
A: It's no secret that yoga helps many people feel uplifted and calm. Yoga encourages us to feel present, purposeful, and free of judgement. It is a gift we take time to give to ourselves and through a partner practice, a gift we give to each other. Melissa's class will teach you and your partner to link breath, movement, and touch in order to feel more physically and emotionally in sync.
Q: Do I need to be married or in a "traditional couple" to take this class?
A: Any and all couples are welcome to participate in this class!
Q: How is partner yoga good for my family?
A: When we feel supported, we are most effective at supporting others. Taking time to nurture yourself and your relationship is a great way to nurture your family.
Q: Is yoga experience required?
A: No yoga experience is required. You do not need to be flexible, strong, or even calm to try yoga! Melissa will be happy to tailor poses to meet your needs. Show up, enjoy, and be prepared to surprise yourself by how much you can do!
Q: What if my partner is more fit or more experienced with yoga than I am?
A: Not to worry. Partner yoga allows you to meet your partner in the present moment, which means embracing him or her just as he or she is. All poses can be modified and made accessible for every body type!
Yoga experience is not necessary and all levels are welcome.
Whether you are hoping to enhance your existing yoga practice, or simply wish to try something new,
