Below you will find some videos from my classroom. There is a mix of students presenting group work, guest speakers, and field trip reflections.
Students listened to what Mr. Goldberg, a WWII Veteran, believed to be the most important lesson he took from the war: the most important thing to people from all different countries, is human dignity. His presentation took place on 02/08/18. Mr. Goldberg brought in artifacts, including a silk glove that he used while 25,000 feet in the air. At that altitude, the temperature was -50 and touching metal with your bare hands would be impossible. He also brought in a silk map all soldiers had in case they became POW if they were shot down.
The Encampment Project came and did a workshop on how to build community, 01/29/18.
Students viewed Nick Cave's UNTIL at Mass Moca June, 2017. This was a way to wrap up a year-long look at slavery race, and present day racism from the 2016-2017 school year.
Students were asked to put the Declaration of Independence into their own words - this student did a phenomenal job performing on his own.
This video is of two students in the Early Modern World History class that created a rap to connect the early Classics to both the Renaissance and the Enlightenment.
This is an abbreviated version of the talk that happened in my History of the Holocaust and Modern Genocide class with a local Holocaust Survivor.
