If first graders want to try our regular music activities they are:
Moving to music (we use classical music but you can search for "Just Dance" on youtube)
Voice warmup (sing like a slide whistle or follow the pitch of squiggly lines)
Echo song (like "Down by the Bay" or "The Green Grass Grew")
Simple song (like "Mary Had a Little ___" [students make up their own ending for animals])
Singingland (sing like an animal from singing land - cow, owl, whale, etc)
Beat motion (put on some music and tap the beat on your body)
Action Song (like "Wake Up, You Sleepyheads!")
Movement Exploration (like "skating" with paper plates or mirroring a partner)
Song story (like "On Top of Spaghetti" or "The Tailor and the Mouse")
