All participants will meet with the instructor on Tuesdays at 8-9AM in St.John room 400 (Botany Library). Assignments that are due will be due PRIOR to this meeting time.
Groups of students working on problems are expected to meet as often as needed to resolve the problems. Meetings may be held on or off campus and at any time of the week that is convenient for the group members. Please be considerate of each others educational and work schedules as well as lives so that this course promotes a healthy exploration of science of ethnobotany rather than a torturous experience.
Groups of students will need to schedule additional meetings with the instructor in order to work on specific issues that are difficult to resolve, discuss learning objectives, etc. The instructor is a resource for this course whose purpose is to facilitate your learning rather than force-feed the content you are expected to learn. Developing to skill to work with human resources such as an instructor is just as important as developing skills of working with a library, a laboratory, an herbarium, or the Internet.
The course will consist of a cycle of meetings. Time between meets will not be the same for each individual or group because different issues/problems will require different amounts of time.
