What Makes Us Different
ML-Lab has resources that together provide a unique environment for Advanced Science and Engineering Researchers. ML-Lab hosts two of the most advanced automated research facilities in the world. One is the Unified Mechanical Evaluation and Control System (UMECS) including universal mechanical testers, high speed imaging camera, and multi channel data linker (MCDL) or DAQ with LabView using various photonic or electrical senses. The other is the Automatic Material Synthesis and Characterization System (AMSCS) consisting of chemical reactor and characterizer controlled by heuristic optimization software.
In addition, the Center for Scientific Instruments offers world-class capabilities and expertise for materials synthesis, analysis, and computational modeling etc. The ML-Lab shares many equipment and facilities which have a unique collection of high-resolution and analytical electron microscopes, as well as capabilities for spectroscopy, electron diffraction and surface characterization. These facilities are all available to researchers via peer-reviewed user proposals.
