Alinane Raphael — Photo and quote case study for social media. Alinane is an 11-year-old girl who can now stay in school all day because she has eaten in the morning. She dreams of being an English teacher in the future.
Berthia Kachepa — Bertha is a 12 year-old girl from Thy'olo. She walks over an hour to school without breakfast. Receiving phala gives her the energy needs to study, succeed in class, and play netball.
Cyrus Makenda — Cyrus is an 11-year-old boy in standard 7. He has been receiving Mary's Meals for three years since he changed schools following the death of his father. Case study used in campaign email to global Mary's Meals family.
Everless Raphael — Eveless Raphael is a 12 year-old girl from Chilkea. Her parents only harvested two bags in 2017, and they are having to do piecework to be able to afford food.
Godly N'gonwa — 12-year-old Godly has a dream to be selected to a National secondary school, and he's putting in extra hours to get there. He receives Mary's Meals at Manja Primary School, and will sit his standard 8 exams in May 2018.
Goodson Chalimba — Male volunteer at a rural school in Blantyre district. His daughter will soon be of school-going age, and he comes to cook so that she will be able to benefit from the porridge when she comes to class.
Isaac Phiri — 5 year old boy from Blantyre. The porridge served at the under-6 centre he attends makes him full so he can grow up strong and healthy. (Twitter and Facebook snapshot)
Philip Magombo — Philip is an 8 year old boy, who suffered from malnutrition prior to receiving Mary's Meals, first at nursery school and now at primary. He dreams of being a security guard in town when he has finished school.
Robertson Grant — The porridge served by Mary's Meals every school day gives football fan Robertson in Malawi plenty of energy to study, play and make it through the busy day.
Taonga Banda — The first of a series of case studies to be published during a quarter focussed on content from our programme in Zambia, which I collected in February 2018. Taonga is an 11-year-old girl who eats just once a day at home, and dreams of becoming a teacher when she finishes school.
Yamikani Leniforde — Follow-up case study of std 8 girl who looks after her brothers and sisters after her parents passed away. She had just sat her standard 8 exams when we met, and we found out she had passed in August 2017. Used as part of Magnus' message to global MM family.
