Freedom Fund Banquet

On April 2, 2022, the Monroe County Branch NAACP hosted its 42nd Freedom Fund Banquet. Our theme this year was Always Moving Forward

Funds raised from the banquet support the branch’s activities such as scholarships, public forums on significant civil rights issues, and community programs that advance the mission of the NAACP.

Dr. Gloria L. Howell, Director of the Indiana University Neal-Marshall Black Culture Center and Branch Recording Secretary, was our Keynote Speaker. IU NAACP Chapter President Ramatou Soumare and Vice-President Mariame Sow spoke about their chapter activities. Alonza Lawrence provided music and Branch First Vice-President Maqubè Reese was the emcee.  Chef Lee Catering and Chefing catered the banquet.

Thanks to Shatoyia Moss for designing the souvenir booklet cover and to PIP Printing for working with us again this year to print the booklet.

See coverage of the banquet in the B Square Bulletin.
