Introduction

_________________________________________

This script lets you take a texture image, with Daz Studio's tiling and offset parameters

and convert it into an image which can then be applied to the same surface

but with no tiling and no offset, or actually, with a Tiling of 1 by 1 and an offset of 0,0

Installation

_________________________________________

The script is in a zip package is found at the bottom of this page

unzip it in your daz content folder, typically

C:\Program Files\DAZ\Studio\content\

or

C:\Program Files (x86)\DAZ\Studio\content\

once installed, it will appear in your content library, under Studio / Scripts / mcasual

or

C:\Users\Public\Documents\My DAZ 3D Library\

once installed, it will appear in your content library, under My DAZ 3D Library / Scripts / mcasual

Pre-requisite : imagemagick

You must install the imagemagick utilities ( just what they call the binaries ) on your PC

http://www.imagemagick.org/script/binary-releases.php

we only need the convert.exe and the montage.exe utilities

Personally i always install them in c:\imagemagick

but C:\Program Files\ImageMagick is also good

Then, at least once, you must run the script

use the "Location of imagemagick" button

then browse to and select c:\imagemagick\convert.exe

Use

_________________________________________

select an object in the scene

start the script

select one of that object's image maps

in the example here i selected the amylookaside.jpg map

it is used by the material named Default ( it's a primitive plane )

this image is 300x300 pixels, and is presently tiled 4x4 with a vertical and an horizontal offset of 0.33

it you look at the bottom, you see this will produce a 1200x1200 pixels image since 4 x 300 = 1200

click the GO button

specify where the new texture will be written and which filename and filetype will be used

in the example, the script will suggest we place it in the same folder as amylookaside.jpg

but with the name Default_amylookaside.jpg

And 1 second later you get your re-tiled image!

Note that even if you re-tile an image, the same copyright restrictions apply as the ones placed on the original texture

The "Be Like Preview" option

when you use a vertical tiling lower than 1 tile, the 3Delight render

will not show tiling that looks like the one you see in the 3D viewport

to fix this, use the "Be like preview" option
