Hootenanny Haven
539 Coopertown Road
Unionville, Tennessee 37180
Nestled in northern Bedford County, Hootenanny Haven is a historic family farm dedicated to preserving the traditions of rural Tennessee life, old-time music and dance, and community fellowship. Established in the 1800's and stewarded by generations of the same family, the farm reflects the agricultural heritage and cultural spirit of Middle Tennessee.
Known throughout the region as the home of MaupinFest, Hootenanny Haven has welcomed musicians, dancers, and spectators for gatherings celebrating Appalachian and Tennessee old-time traditions. Fiddle tunes, banjo music, buck dancing, square dancing, and vintage games continue a heritage once common across rural America.
The name “hootenanny,” a longtime Southern expression for an informal musical gathering, reflects the farm’s enduring mission: bringing people together through music, hospitality, faith, and fellowship.
Hootenanny Haven features 1800's log structures, landscaped acreage, period inspired amenities such as pavilions, restrooms, a large stage, and primitive camping areas. Hootenanny Haven remains a place where history is remembered, traditions are shared, and community endures for future generations.

A large old-timey stage was constructed in the summer of 2019 especially for the festival, supported by cedars cleared from the festival grounds. A special thanks to Jay Milam for his help and expertise in clearing the grounds, setting poles, and constructing the stage and to White's Welding for erecting the steel roof.
