Vector Algebra and Calculus

MATLAB is particularly useful in handling calculus and vector algebra. The students see these topics the first time in their first mathematics courses and hence it should be OK for Engineering to consolidate this information through Application and Software

The incorporation of MATLAB into the course allows the review of the mathematics in two ways:

Students apply mathematics to Problem Solving traditionally by working it out on paper

Students again implement the mathematics in MATLAB

This one-two punch will help analytical thinking and consistency. In fact, they can go further by taking part in What If? Scenarios and creating graphics for better understanding.
