MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships are open to researchers moving within Europe or coming to Europe from another part of the world to pursue their research career. The fellowships can last between 1 and 2 years. Researchers of any nationality can apply.
Calls are announced every year around May with the deadline around Sept 10.
The call is highly competitive, but:
we have shown that you can make it with us - Giulia D'Angelo scored 97.2/100 in 2024.
there are other funding options if you score less:
- Czechia is one of the EU "Widening" countries (~ 91 points needed)
- MSCA CZ funding from Czech Ministry of Education (not avaialable for the 2026 call)
No extra work from you and you get the same amount of funding for the same project.
Eligibility
You must hold a PhD at the submission deadline and the maximum time since obtaining the PhD is 8 years.
You must not have resided or carried out your main activity (work, studies, etc.) in the country of the host organisation for more than 12 months in the 36 months (3 years) immediately preceding the call deadline.

Approximate timeline:
mid September 2026 - proposal submission
February 2027 - learn about the results of MSCA, with a possible start from around April 2027
If not funded but good score, you can apply for Marie Curie CZ with a later start.
