While trying to solve mathematical problems, I witness firsthand the extremely rapid advancement in AI capabilities during the period of May-September 2026. As a result I am devoting most of my time to understanding AI and to educating the public about this.
I run a weekly meeting at UQ called Conversations on AI (Thursdays 10 am). If interested, drop me an email. Topics covered include running agents for solving math problems, how AI is helping in physics, AI in tutoring, ethics of AI, How AI is affecting student, etc. Roughly half of participants and speakers are students.
