About My Self

Joe Mannherz has been singing since the age of 8. From boy soprano in his church choir to tenor in his high school and later college chorus. He has the dubious honor to be able to brag about singing for two different Pope’s, on two separate occasions with two different ensembles.

He has been a member of the Barbershop Harmony Society for over 40 years; a 30 year member of the Baltimore Symphony Chorus; a member of the Handel Choir and the Concert Artists of Maryland.

He has been the Musical Director of Harford County’s “Bay Country Gentlemen” and Harrisburg’s “Keystone Capital Chorus”. He is currently the Artistic/ Musical director of his jazz quintet “High Five” and the “Baltimore Vocal Jazz Ensemble”. He has been a member of numerous quartets in the Mid Atlantic District, the most recent: “Escapade”.

Along with Directing/arranging/coaching, he can add several stage appearances to his credit; A Funny thing happened on the way to the Forum, 1776, Man of La Mancha, Sound of Music, O'er the Ramparts, Little Mermaid, Jesus Christ Superstar and the Wizard of Oz to name a few of the most recent.
