    • Danny Thomas beats Wayne Brown 6-5

    • Danny won three black ball frames during the match and had breaks of 52, 66 and 62; from 1-1 he was never behind

    • Brown has 107 break in the tenth frame to draw level but in a close final frame Thomas cleared the last two reds and colours to take the match

    • Danny Thomas progressed to the final without raising his cue as his opponent, Michael Wild, was unexpectedly out of the country

    • In the other semi Wayne Brown's good run continued as he overcame the champion for the last two years, Dean Sheridan 5-1

    • Wayne was the player in form, having made the semis without conceding a frame in any of his three previous rounds and having recorded half a dozen 50+ breaks, including the tournament high of 115

    • Wayne took the first easily with a 50 break (the best of the night), then continued with the next two despite Sheridan having opportunities to take both. Dean then took the frame before the interval. After the break Brown continued to have the edge and won a lengthy fifth frame before running out a comfortable winner in the sixth

  • QF Highlights

    • Michael WIld eased into the semis with a comfortable 5-1 victory over Steve Groves. Wild had breaks of 61 and 54

    • Wayne Brown domimated the match against Craig Steadman, completing a whitewash in quick time. Wayne set a new highest break with 115 and also had a 72

    • Danny Thomas sped to a 2-0 lead over Gary Lees. Gary, with breaks of 66 and 95, retook the lead at 3-2. Danny levelled but in the seventh, Gary faltered on a crucial green, allowing Danny to take the frame quickly followed by the next for a 5-3 success

    • Dean Sheridan won several close frames early in the match but Mick Dickenson dug in and closed to 2-3 behind. Sheridan then accelerated to a 5-2 victory

    • Breaks of 108 and 66 from Michael Wild, 88,59 and 63 from Wayne Brown and 82 from Danny Thomas

    • Dean Sheridan and Wayne Brown both win 4-0

    • Steve Groves makes good clearance to take the deciding frame against Dave Ackers
