Elad and Uri just published a new paper together with our experimental colleagues on a DFT study of the newly discovered pi-phase in the monochalcogenides SnS and SnSe. The results indicate that this phase may also be accessible in the germanium chalcogenides and in particular in GeS will exhibit a direct bandgap.
