The Material Physics group at the Department of Materials Engineering at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev studies and develops models of physical and mechanical properties of materials under extreme conditions which can be applied to basic materials science studies and novel materials design.

In particular, we:
  • develop models of physical and mechanical properties of materials using ab-initio, atomistic and phenomenological approaches.
  • motivate and validate the models by dedicated experimental measurements
  • predict properties under extreme conditions of temperature, pressure, deformation, size etc.
  • promote the use of predictive models in materials science studies, the design of new materials and other applications.
