Greetings, In the name of the State of Maine, you are hereby required to notify and warn the Inhabitants of the Town of Shapleigh, Maine, qualified to vote in Town affairs, to meet at the Town House on Friday, March 9th, 2012 at nine o'clock in the forenoon, then and there to act on the following articles, to wit:

POLLS WILL BE OPENING FOR THE ELECTION OF TOWN OFFICERS IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE MODERATOR IS ELECTED AND WILL REMAIN OPEN UNTIL EIGHT O’CLOCK IN THE EVENING. After the closing of the polls, the meeting will be recessed until Saturday, the Tenth of March A.D. 2012 at ten o’clock in the forenoon at the Shapleigh Memorial School.
Senator Ron Collins of Senate District 2, James Campbell, candidate for Representative Dist. 138 and Sheriff Maurice Ouellette were given permission to address the meeting.
ARTICLE 3. Shall an ordinance entitled “105-4 Nonconformance” be amended as follows:

J. Expiry of Permits. Permits issued under this chapter shall expire after 90 days, unless a building permit is issued. This time period may be extended by the Code Enforcement Officer if issuance of a building permit is delayed due to a technical problem.

Shall the Town of Shapleigh adopt the Maine Uniform Building and Energy Code (Residential Building Code, Commercial Building Code, Residential Energy Code, Commercial Energy Code, Residential Ventilation Code, Residential Radon Code) based on Sec. 5. 10 MRSA §9724, sub§1-A as enacted and on the recommendation of the Codes Enforcement Office.
Note: Sec. 5. 10 MRSA §9724, sub-§1-A is enacted to read:
1-A. Municipalities up to 4,000 residents. A municipality of up to 4,000 residents may not adopt or enforce a building code other than the Maine Uniform Building Code, the Maine Uniform Energy Code or the Maine Uniform Building and Energy Code. Notwithstanding any other provision of this chapter or Title 25, chapter 314, the provisions of the Maine Uniform Building Code, the Maine Uniform Energy Code or the Maine Uniform Building and Energy Code do not apply in a municipality that has 4,000 or fewer residents except to the extent the municipality has adopted that code pursuant to this subsection.
