This is the Zerg90 webpage with public safety information for Maine
Dial 911 for emergency help anywhere and everywhere in Maine - 2/24/2025
Please see entries along the left side - each county has a zerg90 map showing fire stations, police stations, ambulance stations, hospitals, public works garages, etc (work in progress - 12/19/2023) - some info has been added to some of the map markers - typically each map marker includes street address, telephone number, and website - for additional information - please see - radioreference.com + firefandom + broadcastify.com + the statewide fire station map (below) + firenews.org + the MISC file
Generally speaking - each city and town in Maine has their own fire department (there are no county fire departments and no "regional" fire departments (by name) - but there are a few shared fire stations - (and some FDs cover more than one town - such as Alexander FD - 9/23/2024) - [ there are some 'independent' fire companys also - such as Ross Corner and Goodwins Mills - they are not directly attached to any town or city - 10/30/2024 ] - every location has a designated primary ambulance provider (there are no countywide ambulance service but there are a multitude of regional ambulance services) - every location has a designated police responder - with citys served by city police departments; towns covered by town or county or state police agencys - the state police cover the Interstates and wilderness areas and some Towns - game wardens cover all areas including wilderness areas (as do State Forest Rangers) - County Sheriffs typically run county jails and do road patrols in rural areas - there are 3 medevac helos available 24/7/365 - there are 3 or 4 trauma centers open 24/7/365
Actually - some towns have no FD - Parsonfield for one - Porter for another - towns with no FDs are covered by adjacent towns or nearby FDs - 9/23/2024 - Roxbury and Caratunk are two more towns without FDs - Somerville might be another one
In the area of Baxter State Park there are large areas that have no organized local governments - these areas are typically served by State Forest Rangers and State Game Wardens and State Police - with backup by nearby local public safety agencies - and by medevac helos - 10/30/2024 - (State Forestry provides all fire services in the unorganized territorys per State Law - 2/24/2025)

Map of all the fire stations in Maine - [July 14 2020 - I did have this map labeled as "primary" - but it is actually secondary or "co primary" - whatever that is LOL - all of the other Zerg90 maps across the USA have the county maps as primary - except maybe New Mexico - so to keep everything uniform - I should make this statewide Maine Map a "secondary map" - bottom line - if you want the most complete info - check this statewide Maine map AND any county maps also
