CLASS Sf 2-10-2 SANTA FE TYPE
The Maine Central owned eight 2-10-2 locomotives built by ALCO in Schenectady, all purchased from the Boston & Maine. Six were built in 1920 and two in 1923. They were acquired in six different years from 1937 to 1947. The following photographs show the Maine Central's 2-10-2's before and after the acquisitions.

The Maine Central acquired B&M 3029 in October 1944. Scrapped in 1950.
651 was acquired in December 1936, the first B&M 2-10-2 to be purchased. Built in 1920.

Sf Class 654 was photographed at Augusta in 1948.
Ex B&M 3009 was built in 1920, acquired in August 1940 and scrapped in December 1948.
Sf Class Number 655 was acquired in September 1944 and scrapped in June 1953.

B&M 3020 at the Westboro ash pit. The automatic train control box was removed by the MEC.
B&M 3020 (MEC 655) was built in 1923 with a vestibule cab.
Sf Class 657 was built in 1920 as B&M 3005, acquired in April 1946 and scrapped in December 1948.
