This is my latest venture. I also have web sites describing my O Gauge in the Garden and Swanage in 3mm.
I have always fancied live steam in the garden and my O gauge was built at a level which would allow a ground level line. However my expertise with live steam is nil and my impression of many narrow gauge layouts was a bit toy like.
I was inspired by The Hambleden Valley Railway at the ALSRM show in Reading in 2017 to look into the current offerings of the likes of Accucraft. That tempted me to explore the Lynton & Barnstaple Railway in more detail.
I started with the excellent book The Lynton & Barnstaple Railway Measured and Drawn. That included all the drawings I am likely to want. Then I bought a few more books from The Lynton & Barnstaple Railway bookshop to help me plan a photographic survey of what remains and decide what rolling stock I would need.
I don't want to detract too much from my Swanage in 3mm and O Gauge in the Garden projects so I plan to use ready to run track from Peco and rolling stock from Accucraft.
