THE AIM OF SECRET IMAGE APPLICATION
The aim of this software is to send by email (or share on google+) your secret photos with your tablet or smartphone as part of your
work (engineer, journalist, investigator, ...) or as part of a private activity (send to your friends).
This software offers two possibilities to change a picture like this original photo :
A) - to create a puzzle of small pictures with for example two hazy areas (a partiel Secret Image)
B) - to create a coded photo (a Secret Image)
HOW LAUNCHING THIS APPLICATION.
Click on this logo to launch the software
The first windows contains the pictures inside the folder named "camera"
You can select an another folder
Inside a folder, click on a picture to select it
Now, you can click on Puzzle button to create a puzzle or on Secret button to create a secret Image.
The application calculates a reduction factor named R (1.6 here) to have a correct definition of
the picture but not too heavy for the computer memory. You can change this value. (see the explanations &C at the end).
Near the spin box, you can also read the corresponding width and height of the picture.
A) HOW CREATE AND DECODE A PUZZLE OF PICTURES
A1) HOW TO CREATE A PUZZLE WITH SOME HAZY AERAS OR NOT
After launching the application on your tablet or smartphone and having selected a folder
and a picture inside, you click on the button “Puzzle”
After clicking the button “Puzzle”, you can see :
With the spin box “Wi”, “He” in blue control panel, you choose the number of small picture
in the puzzle. When you change these values, you must click on the button “Puzzle” to see
the new cutting. With the third box, you can control how will be saved or not the decoded picture.
With the spin box “hazy”, you choose the number of small photos that you
want to hide (2 in the example). Now you click on the small pictures that you want to hide.
Nota : If you choose 0 in the Hazy spin box, you obtain a classical puzzle without hazy squares.
When you click another one last time (3 in the example) on a clear small picture, the puzzle mix appears.
If you want change the mix, just click on the puzzle.
Your photo is automatically save on your hard disk in the folder named Secret. Now you can send
the hazy puzzle to your friend (cf &C4 at the end).
If you close the different windows, you come back in the folder named Secret. This folder
contains a copy of the selected picture and the puzzle picture.
A2) HOW TO DECODE THE HAZY PUZZLE
After launching the application on your tablet or smartphone and having selected
the folder Secret and a puzzle picture inside :
Click on treatment button or on the picture, the software recognizes a puzzle and cuts
automatically the picture into small photos.
To reconstruct the picture, you just click on two small pictures to exchange them. If you put
all the small pictures in the right place, an information box indicating the number of exchange
and the duration appears. Click Ok and the decoded photo appears.
Nota : If you leave the application before having decoded the puzzle, these is automatically
saved. So you can later continue your puzzle where you let it.
The decoded photo is automatically saved or not, depending on the choice of the sender
(see the explanations &C1 at the end). Click the photo or close this window to come back at the
beginning in the Secret Folder. You find inside the initial puzzle and the decoded picture
if the sender of this picture has authorized his download after these has been decoded.
B) HOW TO CREATE A CODED PHOTO AND HOW TO DECODE IT
B1) HOW TO CREATE A CODED PHOTO
After launching the application on your tablet or smartphone and having selected a folder
and a picture inside, you click on the Secret and you can see :
With the spin box “Wi”, “He” you choose the number of small square ( the complexity of
cutting). When you change these values, you must click on the button “Secret” to see the
new cutting. To obtain a secret code that you will send to your recipient, you click on two
different squares. If you choose the level 1, the secret code is the number of each case.
For example, if you click on the case number 0 then on the case number 48, your secret code
is 048. After your second click, a box indicates you the secret code. Then you click ok to see
the secret image.
If you are not satisfied, you can click on secret button to start at the beginning and change the
cutting.
If you chose the level 2, you always click successively on two squares. In this case a complex
code is given by the computer. Store the code and click Ok.
With level 1 or 2, click now the photo to come back and close the next window to arrive inside the
Secret folder. The decoded photo is automatically saved or not, depending on the choice
of the sender. Click the photo or close this window, and the
next to come back at the beginning in the Secret folder. You find inside the initial puzzle
and the decoded picture, if the sender of this picture has authorized his download (see the
explanations &C1 at the end) after these has been decoded.
B2) HOW TO DECODE A CODED PHOTO
After launching the application on your tablet or smartphone and having selected a secret
picture inside a folder (ex "Download" if it’s a picture send for example with Gmail by a friend )
Click on treatment button or on the picture, the software recognizes alone a coded photo and
the computer is waiting the secret code that your friend has given to you unless having decided
to a common code, in advance with him,.
If it’s the good code, the decoded photo appears and it is automatically saved or not,
depending on the choice of the sender (see the explanations &C). If the code is false, the
software is automatically closed.
C) ANOTHER EXPLANATIONS
C1) How to control (Save, Only Re or One Re) the secret image send
When you create a puzzle picture or a coded picture to send it to your friend, you can choose
in this box, three options
If you have chosen :
* “Save”, when the receiver of the photo (puzzle or coded : name.png) succeed the
decoding, the decoding photo is automatically saved on his hard disk with the suffix
“.jpg” (name.jpg);
* “Re only” (as read only), when the recepient of the photo (puzzle or coded) succeed
the decoding, the decoding photo is not saved. He must every time decode the photo
(puzzle or coded) to see the photo again.
* “Re one time” (as read one time), when the recepient of the photo (puzzle or coded)
succeed the decoding, the decoding photo is not saved. Further, if he can’t decode the
coded photo a second time. If he tries, the programm is closed automatically.
C2) How to choose a good image quality but without a big file ?
You just use the spin Box "Reduce" near the two values giving the quality of your choice.
When you want send a puzzle or coded photo, it’s better than the minimum of Width or
Height pixels would be nearest from 1000 pixels. With this value, you will create a good
image quality not too heavy (< 2.0 Mo) to send it by email. Just after having chosen a new
picture, the application offers a value for the reduction factor. You can click on the spin box
“Reduce” to change this value. Then you click on the button “Puzzle” to create a puzzle
photo or on the button Secret to create a coded photo.
Nota : Your original photos aren't affected by the process, because the computer works on a
copy. This copy is automatically saved in secret folder.
C3) How to delete a picture in the Secret folder
You click on a picture inside the Secret folder, the picture appears with two buttons “Treatment” and “Delete”, just click on Delete button.
C4) How to send a secret image by email or share it
Two Possibilities :
1) If the album (folder) named Secret appears in the Gallery, use the classical process
to send a Secret Image by email. Normally, the secret album appears if you turn off then
turn on your device after the first using of this application.
2) You select in your application the application named “My files”
You open the folder named Secret
and you select the the picture that you want to send
After you click on the share button near the delete button (the trash)
C5) How to competition with your friends with the puzzle.
You create a puzzle more or less complex in choosing the number of small pictures
(until 256) and the number of hazy small pictures (until 9).
Every body solves the puzzle and keeps his result ; the time and the number of moving appears in
the box just after having solved the puzzle.
The winner is someone who solved the puzzle the most quickly. If two friends have the same time,
you compare the number of motion small pictures.
