Yes, almost all of that sounds familiar and right on target. I'm gonna have

to print that out.

In the early 80s, before 800-MHz arrived, LAFD used the 506/507 frequencies

for fireground and Admin stuff, and for ambulance dispatch in the Metro

area; they were still on 33 MHz for Metro & Valley Fire dispath (& valley

RAs).

For years Channel 9 (33.90) was dispatch freq for the SF Valley, but they

eventually switched it to Channel 8 (33.82); I never heard a reason given,

but I remember hearing Columbus (or was it Cleveland) Ohio FD just BOOMING

in on 33.90 almost year round at different times, which may have been a big

reason.
