At the present time, multinational companies can operate (make money) in almost any country on earth. Their employees (with a bunch of paperwork) can do the same but individuals citizens of any 1 country are prevented (forbidden) from working (for money) in any country on earth except their own (home) country without a mountain or 'red tape' paperwork. This is going to change (peacefully or by force).
People 'often' move to (or want/need to) move to where the jobs are to make a living for themselves (and their family) but the borders of countries are major restrictions to the movement of 'their' citizen.
In the 'internet age' that we now live, this is going to change. I am not sure when but 'the writing is on the wall', ALL country borders will eventually fall.

As weak points are discovered in the existing worldwide transportation infrastructure which at some future point will fail, local/regional and federal governments will be engaged to put the necessary resources into fixing them so they don't fail.
Once one gets access to the transportation network, they can travel (almost) anywhere in the world for 'free' or 'a small subscription fee'. Seats on ships, trains, planes, buses, automobiles, and horseback have minimum costs attached to them but getting them practically free is our objective.
