Welcome to StatKey Help!

This is the landing page for the  Statkey Help website.  Here you can learn all the latest and greatest things about StatKey!

NEW in 2016!  Most StatKey procedures now have an "Upload File" tab where you can upload your own data from a .csv or .txt file.  The data will persist while in the StatKey session and you can use the new "Change Column(s)" tab to select other variables from your uploaded data to analyze.

NEW in 2017!  The second edition of "Statistics:Unlocking the Power of Data" is out.  We've added lots of new data to the StatKey menus and updated other existing datasets.  Since many users are still using the first edition, some datasets now appear twice in the menus (for example Hot Dogs-2e and Hot Dogs-1e).  If you are trying to match a particular version of the text, be careful to choose the correct option.

NEW in 2021! - Version 3.0

Improved Accessibility

StatKey now supports keyboard navigation of pages. Users may use the tab key to iterate over clickable elements and use the enter key to select a highlighted element.  Drop-down menus are navigable with arrow keys, and it is possible to jump to the first item beginning with a typed letter.

Screen readers are now supported. This includes the ability to navigate, read menus, data points, and dynamic changes to the user interface.

Colors and contrasts have been adjusted to improve the experience for users with minor visual disabilities, low vision, limited color perception, or presbyopia. Errors are now consistently identified both with color and text.

New and updated data links

82 links in various StatKey procedures to new data situations

47 data links have been updated to more current data (in the third edition of Lock5)

Links remain (but may be renamed) to datasets from the second edition that have been updated.

Links to datasets from the first edition have been dropped (but those datasets are still available at http://www.lock5stat.com/datapage1e.html).

Several minor bug fixes

Tail controls for theoretical distribution pages correctly control the tails displayed on the distribution graph.

Improved error handling for custom datasets. If data cannot be correctly parsed, StatKey reverts to the previous dataset.

Data tables now update with custom data.

      Minor performance improvements
