Outcome: Articulate the importance and implication of ethical reasoning for today’s leaders.
Reflection:
The main source of ethics is believed by many to be leadership. Usually, ethics controls the activities of employees within the company and the way leaders and followers act. Also, it shows the direction of the company and what they will do to achieve their goal of being where they want to be. Usually, companies that are successful in producing the desired result conduct their activities in a better way to the extent that every employee who works for the company dedicates themselves to complete their tasks while making sure that they follow and maintain a set of principles established by the founders of the company. In regards to my company, this allows us to communicate our underlying moral values and our followers' beliefs about good behavior and what items are important set forth by the company. Performing daily activities while making sure that they follow a set of fundamental beliefs and our company's set of principles is essential for our company. It allows every employee to believe in himself, especially when they are making essential decisions for the company. Secondly, it allows employees to perform their daily activities while making sure they are doing so as a group of people with a full set of complementary skills required to complete our tasks. Thirdly, every employee does their activities while making sure they have a feeling of deep admiration between one another.
Ethics Frame Work
The first artifact comes from the class (MGMT 560). I was informed that I am required to prepare my essential supporting structure. Like any other leader, I need to make sure I prepare my structure which explains the meaning of moral principles that govern my behavior. It will also explain the way I apply a self-regulating business model that helps my company to be socially accountable, a state in which the demand placed on the environment can be met without reducing its capacity to allow people to live well now and in the future. Lastly, leadership that is directed by respect for ethical beliefs and the dignity and rights of others is essential for my leadership skills advancement. I have a distinguishing characteristic and I am sure I will turn out to be a productive leader for my company and the society in general. My essential resolution which I will be making for the benefit of the organizations will be accepted by my followers without any problem.
Environmental Sustainability
The second artifact (LEAD 580) clearly explains the way we care about a state in which the demands placed on the environment can be met without reducing its capacity to allow people to live well now and in the future. We do so very carefully because we are aware that companies are benefited, advanced, and they are not deteriorating. Environmental sustainability is a company dedicated to maintaining materials or substances such as minerals, forests, water and fertile land that occur in nature and can be used as a means to get income. A company makes sure that natural resources at hand are currently being used. Because of that, the company uses time and funds to supply what is missing as a way to make sure that these resources do not remain there without being used productively. This is so essential to companies simply because it gives a clear picture to individuals who are interested in doing business. The company is not only looking forward to making sure that they are gaining profit advancing, but they are also looking forward to making sure they are acquiring additional essentials, for example, a good life for the people in the coming years.
Honesty
I also have a detailed plan that helps me set my career toward advanced leadership roles and senior management positions. Technically this is important because it is an invaluable tool to strategically guide me through my career growth and professional development. This comes from (LEAD 520). I clearly explain why it is essential for people to tell the truth. To be truthful is one of the most essential elements of moral principal that governs a person's behavior. As a leader, I need to make sure I speak truthfully, especially when I am speaking to followers or people who work in my company. I need to make sure that I am sincere in every conversation I have with others. Deceitfulness is not good because it convinces people to believe that the truth is not the truth. It can also build or prepare me to be the person who makes bad choices, currently as well as in the future. I must be free of deceit when I am doing business transactions or any other activities with businessmen and women, suppliers, supervisors, subordinates, as well as people who buy goods and services from my company. I will make sure that I share with followers honest communication for my benefit and their benefit, as well as for the benefit of my company. Lastly, as a leader, I will make sure that I assist and advance followers in a way that will enable them to be better leaders, currently as well as in the future. The best way for me to do that is for me to make sure I tell them the truth, especially when I am giving feedback to followers' performance regarding their tasks within the organization.
Ethical Leadership
The next artifact (MGT 560) gives a clear explanation of the essentials of leadership that is directed by respect for ethical beliefs, values, dignity and the rights of others in all company stages. Just like any other leader, I prepare a mood which I set concerning choices between right and wrong, and between more and less admirable forms of behavior of my company. I will also do everything in my power to make sure that every individual who works in my company is properly following my fundamental beliefs and principles established by the founders of our organization. I have discovered that as a leader in my organization, the best way for me to explain to my employees the essentials of my moral principles that govern my behavior is to physically involve them in my activities and have them watch how I act within my company. Lastly, I will make sure that as a leader of my organization, I will explain to my followers frankly concerning the essence of my discipline when I am dealing with what is good and bad and with moral duty and obligation. This is important because it will prove to them that I am conducting activities while making sure that I am following these principles and that I am dedicated to ensuring they are functioning well.
Change
The best way for a company to advance is to make sure that change is taking place. Technically, this can be found in the artifact (LEAD 570). I have indicated that change can bring good things to my organization. At the same time, the process of change usually has some consequences, which can sometimes cause me to violate my fundamental beliefs and set of principles organized by the founders of our organization. Also, change can cause me to fail to give priority to essential items in my organization. On the other hand, if everyone in my company follows my set of principles organized by the founders of my company and minimizes the actions that fall outside of what is considered morally right, our company will change positively. I will always make sure that I prioritize the process of leading my company, especially when it makes a transition from its current state to some desired future state while constantly making sure that I follow my principle of what is essential in life and our company's set of principles. Lastly, I have discovered that actions that fall outside of what is considered morally right can hurt my company overall.
Conclusion
Ethics is very essential to a leader or an employee of a company because it plays an important part in his advancement or failure to achieve his company goals. According to my artifact which I have shared in this paper, I have clearly shown how well I know the need for me as a leader to make sure that I operate my activities with a focus on my knowledge, skills, and dispositions, to develop and maintain integrity in my life and work. In addition, as a leader, I discovered that it is essential for me to make sure I conduct my activities in my organization in a way that I follow and respect my fundamental beliefs. To lead my activities, how I act and communicate between myself and my employees gives me the capacity to believe that I can do my leadership tasks well, especially when I am making essential decisions for my organization. Lastly, I believe it gives an opportunity, especially to the employee who agrees with the beliefs of others, to have confidence in the way I am treating and thinking about followers. I believe followers can follow and respect the same principle of my judgment-that is, what is important in life.
Future Learning Goals:
As a leader of my organization, my goal is to advance my principle, that when followed, promote values such as trust, good behavior, fairness, and kindness. Also, I will continue to find companies that do not cause damage to the environment, exploiting its workforce by paying low wages and child labor, and adopt what they do because it will allow my company to have a good reputation. An example of a company I have found is called the U-Haul company. This business and other private moving companies impacted my principles because they have a reputation for doing many good things for their customers. These companies have a history of practicing a self-regulating business model and leadership that is directed by respect for ethical beliefs and values, the dignity and rights of others, and the environment. Responsible interactions with the environment avoid depletion of natural resources and allow for long term environmental quality. Learning good moral principle activities that are taking place in dissimilar companies allows me to develop the possible course of action which I can use to operate my professional leadership activities in my company. Also, as a leader, I will make sure that I proceed to request recommendations regarding a decision from a reliable, experienced and trusted advisor, especially when I reach a moment in my company where fundamental beliefs are facing difficulties. Previously I have come across certain activities in my company and they seem easy to practice; however, at the same time, they turn out to not be morally correct. But frankly speaking, my behavior of requesting recommendations regarding decisions gives me the courage to find solutions to these problems. I have always managed to make an essential formal judgment which turns out to be beneficial for me and my company. After receiving advice, my crucial decisions, especially concerning the way I operate my activities, enabled me to achieve my organizational goals easily.
