Quesada and Local Area

Quesada town centre is about 10 minutes walk from the villa. It is situated between Guardamar and Torreveija and has developed into a cosmopolitan area over the last 30 years. You will find orange and lemon trees surrounding the town and all amenities on your doorstep. There are many local shops and multiple large supermarkets, catering for many international needs. There are numerous restaurants and bars as well as banks, dentists, petrol stations, taxis/buses and a medical centre. The town also benefits from its own water park (open June – Sept), country club and championship golf course (La Marquesa).

The whole coastline from south of Alicante has many beaches available. The nearest is the blue flag beach of golden sands at Guardamar del Segura which is approximately 10 minutes drive from the villa. You will find miles and miles of golden sandy beach leading to the lovely Mediterranean sea. Along the beach side you will find many different bars and cafes, plenty of parking spaces and children's playground facilities. The secluded coves are to be found south of Torrevieja at La Zenia and Caba Roig.

Torrevieja is a traditional Spanish city and port. 'High street' shopping and major supermarkets can be found on the road (CV-905) approaching Torrevieja from Quesada, approximately 10 minute drive. Along this road you will also find a cinema, ten pin bowling, fast food restaurants and aswell as general shopping, so even if it rains you will not be bored. The beachfront at Torrevieja conists of beautiful sandy beaches, boulevards and a marina. Relax in one of the many restaurants which line the boulevard, or explore the local markets dotted around the area.

Torrevieja is renowned for the salt lagoons that surround the city. These are now listed as nature reserves and are home to pink flamingos and other species of wildlife. Some of these lagoons can be seen from Quesada, glowing pink in the sunshine.

La Zenia Boulevard Shopping Centre is the new shopping mall at the Orihuela Costa. It is the biggest shopping center of the province of Alicante. It looks a lot like an american shopping mall but with a Mediterranean accent. The Shopping centre has activities almost every weekend. La Zenia Boulevard shopping center is the ideal place to go shopping with the all family or just to have something to eat or have fun with the kids. For the Kids there are lots of activities which are open the whole year. A third of the second floor is a real kids paradise with all sort of attractions. Near the “Alcampo”, there are little small funny cars shaped in the form of animals.
