Family Fish Derby

REGINA BEACH & DISTRICT LIONS FAMILY ICE FISHING CONTEST RULES

1. The contest is scheduled for Regina Beach March 02, 2024, from 11:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M.

2. Saskatchewan fishing regulations are in effect.

3. Must register before you fish.

4. When registering you must show a valid fishing license or proof of age exemption..

5. Must have your participant ticket/ribbon at all times.

6. By entering the derby all participants declare an understanding of all derby rules and agree to abide by

them.

7. All participants must do their utmost to exhibit good sportsmanship and are responsible for their own litter.

8. NO SAVING HOLES FOR YOUR BUDDIES.

9. Participants must fish in the area designated for the contest.

10. All ice fishing participants will be approximately 20 feet apart.

11. A horn will be sounded at 11:00 A.M. to indicate the official start time. A horn will be sounded at 2:00 P.M.

to indicate the official stop time.

12. No lines to be dropped into the water before 11:00 A.M.

13. No holes to be drilled after 12:00 noon.

14. NO USE OF ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT EG. FISH FINDER, UNDERWATER CAMERA, DEPTH

FINDER.

15. Participants may fish a maximum of 2 lines.

16. Paid participants who are fishing will be the only ones allowed to enter the fishing area.

17. All fish must be brought to the weigh-in tent immediately and alive. All fish must be weighed prior to 2:00

P.M. No late fish will be accepted or weighed. PLEASE HAVE WATER IN A CONTAINER AS THIS IS A

CATCH AND RELEASE CONTEST.

18. Any fish that cannot be released alive will not be weighed.

19. You are not allowed to keep any fish caught in this event. That means not even to eat.

20. All fish brought to the weigh-in tent will be released by the organizing committee.

21. PORTABLE ICE TENTS, TARPS, AND WOODEN OR LOCKABLE HUTS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED.

22. Sleeping bags, blankets, small coolers, heaters, chairs and 5-gallon pails are permitted in the designated

fishing area.

23. No motorized vehicles are allowed in the designated fishing area other than contest officials and police

vehicles. Therefore, fish must be brought to the weigh-in tent by foot

24. ABSOLUTELY NO PETS IN DESIGNATED FISHING AREA.

25. Failure to comply with the contest rules subjects’ participants to disqualification.

26. Prizes will be awarded as soon as possible after the event ends.

27. If no species caught, draw will be held for prizes.

28. Concession stands will be present. PLEASE DO NOT LITTER. GARBAGE BARRELS WILL BE PLACED

AT FISHING AREA. PLEASE USE THEM.

29. At all times before, during and after the event, you are responsible for your safety, actions, gear and

equipment.

30. The organizer may at any time before, during and after the event change the event format if so required.

This event will be held meeting all conditions of Saskatchewan Public Health Orders Mask and Physical

Distancing guidelines in place at the time of the event. All entrants and attendees are expected to follow the

Provincial physical distancing guidelines and all Public Health recommendations while participating.
