KeyPlayer

Instructor: Adam Jonas

This module is a hands-on introduction to the KeyPlayer software included in the UCINET package and offered as a free download. KeyPlayer offers innovative solutions to network intervention problems such as “which set of network members can reach the greatest percentage of the others in the network?”, “which set of network members if removed, will cause the greatest fragmentation to the overall network?”, and “which sets of network members are in positions to harvest the most ‘flows’, such as information or transmittable disease, from different regions of the network?”. The usefulness of KeyPlayer will be discussed across diverse fields focusing on national security, law enforcement, public health, and change management. By the end of the module, participants should possess the ability to import data into and use KeyPlayer software to identify key sets of nodes in a social network.
