Nightlife

If you are looking for things to do in Lexington there are quite a few bars around the downtown and campus area to grab a drink or enjoy some of Kentucky’s favorite libation, Bourbon Whiskey. Lexington also has a good craft beer scene with two micro-breweries and several bars that cater to people who like unique beers. The list below is in no way exhaustive but should offer some suggestions to get you started on a fun night out in Lexington. Click on the name of the bar for additional information and reviews from Yelp.

· Bourbon Bars

o Bluegrass Tavern (Extraordinarily knowledgeable bartenders and the largest selection of Bourbon around)

o Horse and Barrel (Attached to DeShea’s Restaurant)

· Wine Bars

o Table Three Ten (Serves dinner also and is pretty upscale. Good deals during happy hour)

o Wines on Vine (Decent selection of wine, a little quieter than some of the places central to downtown)

· Craft Beer Bars

o Pazzo’s (We’ll go here Monday, pizza pub with 30+ beers on tap and 100s of bottles. Good place to watch sports. Becomes packed on Wednesdays for ‘pint night’.)

o The Beer Trappe (rotating tap of 6 exotic beers and many unique bottled beers)

o The Village Idiot (Gastropub that serves dinner, has good selection of craft beer and a creative menu of food. Housed in an old post office building)

o Lexington Beerworks (Has several craft beers on tap, usually has a food truck serving food there also)

o Glenn’s Creek Brewery (Sports bar, serves dinner, has lots of beer)

· Lexington micro-breweries

o West 6th Brewing (Will need a taxi, but has a nice beer garden and also has a food truck serving many nights)

o Country Boy Brewing (Brews great beer, has a large selection of local micro-brewed beer on tap, and is closer than West 6th. However, it is a little rustic on the inside. Also, tends to have food truck serving food)

o Campus Pub (Small bar, but has lots of TVs)

o Sawyer’s (Downtown, serves burgers, and has several TVs)
