Autumn 2012 Renga
We had a very enjoyable time sitting under the pergola in the Maxwell Arboretum just east of C. Y. Thompson Library on UNL's East Campus (PDF). We lucked out and it did not rain, although early in the week rain was predicted.
There were five poets, and we wrote 20 stanzas in about one and a half to two hours. The focus of the renga seemed to be on the changing life and energy levels of the natural world in autumn. We snacked on chips, Cheetos, and water while we chatted and wrote. Some very nice stanzas were composed; well worth the effort.
We thoroughly enjoyed the great weather!
Afterward we retired to the UNL Dairy Store (on the west side of the library) for some of its famous ice cream.
Participants were (in sequence):
Larry Reznicek
Shiela Tinkham
Linda S.
Mark Fairchild
Sarah Fairchild
