Yvonne McSkimming is a singer/songwriter who speaks to the heart with lyrics that have been described as innocent and intriguing. Ulrich, Shari

Originally a California girl, Shari's career through the Pied Pumkin, Valdy & The Hometown Band, and on as a solo artist continues to inspire audiences, and set the bar for two generations of female singer/songwriters.

BC Entertainment Hall of Fame Inductee and Juno award winner Ulrich is now joined by her 17 year old daughter Julia on violin, piano, guitar and vocals in her solo shows. She continues to tour and record with the Pied Pumkin and Ulrich Henderson Forbes, compose for film and television, produce the Vancouver Bluebird North concert series for the Songwriters Association of Canada, and is recording a new solo album.

Yawney, Ruta

From a Ukrainian family in northern Ontario, Ruta Yawney began playing the bandura, (the Ukrainian national folk instrument) a 55 string lutelike instrument, at the age of 12. Music lessons in Ukrainian school, then concerts and tours and a recording , in 1989, with the women's trio Zymova Troyanda, has led to performances in coffeehouses, at folk festivals and on concert stages, throughout Canada and the Pacific Northwest.Ruta is a also a gifted flautist and professional music therapist completing Degrees in Music from the University of British Columbia (1985) and Music Therapy from B.C. Open University (1993), with a specialty in palliative care work. Ruta's weaving is inspired by the rhythmic, non-verbal, similarities between creating music and fabric. Through her website, Ruta sells her weavings and recordings to support returning to the recording studio in 2003.
