Desiree Bugarin holds a Bachelors of Music in Music Education degree from Sacramento State University. She earned a Master’s Degree in Education, from Portland State University with a focus in classroom music and instrumental music for grades Pre-K to 12. She also holds a Kodály – Level I Certificate in Music Education from PSU. While at Sacramento State, she studied classical percussion with Dr. Daniel Kennedy, and Conducting and Advanced Conducting with Dr. Robert Halseth. Bugarin also studied classical percussion with Dr. Joel Bluestone of Portland State University. During her time in Sacramento, Bugarin taught classical percussion privately through Sacramento State’s Community Music Program and was the Program Coordinator for the Sacramento Youth Symphony. Bugarin taught K-6 general music, Zimbabwean Marimba band, and Junior High Band while she was in Portland. Her music business experience includes subscription sales with the Oregon Symphony.
Notably, Bugarin has performed in the Sacramento Memorial Auditorium, Robert Mondavi Center, the Kennedy Center, and Carnegie Hall. She has been a Guest Conductor for the San Joaquin County Middle School Honor Band, and the Manteca Unified School District Junior High Honor Band. She currently teaches Advanced Band, Concert Band, Piano, Drumline, and L.A.M.P. (7th - 8th Grade Band Program) at Lathrop High School, where she has been director since its’ opening in 2008. Bugarin is an active member of the San Joaquin County Music Educators’ Association and has served on the board as Vice President of High School Bands and President of the SJCMEA. Bugarin currently performs with the Manteca Area Community Band and is taking classes with the Stockton Bukkyo Taiko.

Elizabeth VanEerde received a Bachelor of Music Education and Performance Certificate in Flute from The Peabody Institute of The Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD. She taught Classroom Vocal Music, Elementary Choirs, and Handbells, grades K-5, in Baltimore County Public Schools.
She moved to California to further her education at Holy Names College in Oakland and earned a Masters in Music Education with Kodaly Emphasis. After graduation, she taught Elementary Classroom Music and Choir in Grades K-6, and Middle School Choir and Show Choir, in Grades 7 and 8 in the Hayward Unified School District.
In 2006, she moved to the Manteca Unified School District where she taught Classroom Music, Choir, and Band to Grades 4-8 in various elementary schools. Elizabeth had the opportunity to be part of the opening of Lathrop High School in 2008. She currently is the Director of the Lathrop High School Concert and Advanced Choirs, the Lathrop Area Music Program (LAMP) Junior High Choir, and teaches Beginning Piano Classes. At the county level, She has served as Vice President of the San Joaquin County High School Honor Choir and Vice President of the Middle School Honor Choir.
Recently, Ms. Van Eerde and 10 LHS Advanced Choir Members travelled to New York to perform in Carnegie Hall! Their performance was a collaboration with Mid-America Production, San Joaquin Delta College and many other choir members from across the country.
