As has happened to seemingly everyone who owns an older Bayliner, my fuel tanks sprung a leak because of the wood bracing that was used when the boat was built. The wood stayed wet constantly and the aluminum predictably corroded. I had recently done a repower with engines that didn’t go in easily and didn’t want to pull them. I was also unconvinced that I could get the new tanks in even with the engines out.
The right fiberglass guy just makes things easy.
The photo on page 2 is confusing; the tank is lying on its side.
Correction: The old tanks were 5052 aluminum; 5053 is a typo.
