Introduction

This page will guide you through the easy steps of cleaning out the recirulating air chamber in the LG Ventless dryers.

LG model WM3431 ventless dryer

I love my ventless LG dryer, but it needs occasional cleaning to remove built-up lint deposits in the air circulation chamber. I don't know why LG didn't build an access plate into the side or back of the unit, but there it is.

Over time, this lint accumulation will reduce the dryer's drying ability. After a while you'll notice that clothes don't get dry no matter how long you let the unit run.

This process is easy and can be accomplished in less than an hour (it took me about 40 minutes) by anybody who knows how to operate a #2 phillips screwdriver in both directions. I've included pictures for each of the major steps. Click on the pictures for a larger image.

You'll have much better results if you do this project right after drying (or attempting to dry) a load. The reason is that wet lint clumps together and is easier to remove than dry lint.
