Pope Leo XIV has dedicated his August 2026 prayer intention to “evangelization in the city.”

He invites the faithful to pray that, in the midst of the noise, pace, and complexity of urban life, people may encounter Christ’s presence — just as He once walked the streets of Cana, Jericho, and Jerusalem. The Pope highlights that cities are places of both celebration and suffering, where the poor, forgotten, and imprisoned also dwell, and calls for a renewed witness of faith and compassion in these environments.

It’s a reminder that even in crowded, busy places, moments of grace and connection can flourish
