Resources for

The Magic Finger

by Roald Dahl

This book was first published in 1966 but children of all ages find it entertaining today. It is a short book at only 57 pages, with illustrations from Quentin Blake on every page, making it accesible for younger ages . I have used it with key stage 1 and found that the children could easily relate to characters in the book and that it stimulated their imagination. The story is about a girl who has the power to  put spells on people who make her angry . Themes of the book is one of empathy, in particular to animals. Below you will find a 5 week plan supported by animated readings of the book.
